Hey there!
I've made a tutorial that show you how to make your own splat-vectors in Aviary, using Phoenix and Raven.
It don't take very long time.
Part 1: Take the picture!
What you need:
-A camera
-White paper (A3 or bigger is best)
-A cup
-Pencil
-And black ink or paint
First pour some water in your cup (only a few centimeters).
Then dip the pencil in the ink, and then in the water, so it will be colored.
And then you just have to splat it out on a piece of white paper!
(Do it in the middle of the paper, if you want the best quality)
Part 2: Edit it in Aviary!
First open the picture the chosen picture in Phoenix.
Desurate it.
Then open levels.
And then the Brightness and Contrast so you only can see the splat. (If there's some dark corners, paint them white)
Import the finished picture into Raven.
Trace it. (DON'T USE NOISE REDUCING!! It removes the small details!)
Fix some white holes, there may be.
And if you want, add some more details.
Now save and/or export it as an .swg or .eps!
Thank you for watching this tutorial! (:
